Aveyanda Skye saw a video of Rachel Brice just three years ago. At that moment she realized exactly what she wanted to do with all her passion for dance.First she created Tribal Fusion troupe Magenta Motion. Even though she was the choreographer of the troupe, she missed the feeling of spontaneity of improvisational dancing to live music. Her solo adventure had a massive kick start as she went on tour with Canadian singer Jeff Martin (The Tea Party/The Armada). That's when she really realized just how much she loved performing to the sensuality and emotion of live music.Aveyanda is known for her earthy, classy and serene style of dance, fusing Oriental/Traditional Belly Dance with ATS and a touch of Raqs Gothique, creating Tribal Fusion Belly DanceShe became one of the most successful Tribal Fusion dancers in Holland and went across European borders receiving great response from Belly Dance- as well as non-Belly Dance audiences.Next to Bellydancing and Modelling, Aveyanda took some time off from dancing in 2008 to spend more time as a professional Nanny (her dayjob) for her little friend Sanjoni, who got diagnosed with Leukemia. For over eleven years, Aveyanda suffered from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. After recovering a few years ago ,she strongly feels she was given a second chance in life. Today she eats, sleep and breathes Belly Dance. Her advice to beginning belly dancers is to study both Oriental and Tribal Belly Dance, it provides a great foundation on which you can really fuse and create your own style. And ofcourse: never give up when the going gets tough!
